Kemess Mine

Project Details

Gisborne was awarded the contract to supply and install a one-of-a-kind water treatment plant on the Kemess mine site approximately 430 km northwest of Prince George . This work included the installation of all concrete, structural building steel, equipment, piping and electrical. The new Water Treatment Plant is based on a new technology designed to remove Selenium from a water source, something that will become a standard for all water treatment plants in the future.

Scope: Supply and installation of approximately 700m3 of cake mix concrete using an onsite Volumetric Mixer for placement, structural steel erection for a 200ft x 100ft building, associated interior steel platforms and stairs, a 5 ton gantry crane, installation of approximately 8km of piping, installation of a filter press, a proprietary filtration system consisting of dozens of tanks, filter cells and cleaning columns, electrical (Lakewood), administration offices and washrooms.
